Oakland University will welcome new and returning students to campus with a variety of events during Welcome Week from Tuesday, Sept. 2 through Saturday, Sept. 13.

The events will provide students with numerous ways to connect to OU’s resources and services, interact with their peers and get involved in student organizations with academic, cultural, recreational, social and service opportunities.

Some highlights of Welcome Week include: New Student Welcome (Sept. 2), SPB Carnival with a Cartoon Mania theme (Sept. 5), NPHC Yard Show (Sept. 6), “OU Opening Day” and Grizz Fest (Sept. 9), Greek Fest (Sept. 11), OU Night at Great Lakes Crossing (Sept. 11), and the University Housing Midnight Block Party (Sept. 13).

“Welcome Week celebrates the start of the 2025-2026 school year with two weeks of programs, activities, and events that offer something for everyone to explore and get engaged in, plus enjoy lots of free food, fun, and giveways,” said Jean Ann Miller, senior director for the Office for Student Involvement.

Miller recommends visiting GrizzOrgs, now located on MYSAIL, to find out what’s happening on campus and to join student organizations, fraternities and sororities, and club sports.
