We sat down with biomedical science major Mackenzie Nichols to talk about her favorite OU moments.

MAJOR: Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences, 2023; Master of Science in biology, 2025

FAVORITE STUDY SPOT: In The Honors College in their focus room — the bean bag chairs are so cozy

GO-TO PARKING LOT: The second floor of the parking garage in front of the Engineering Center is the only correct answer; there are always spots, and you never have to fight to get in or out

FAVORITE FOOD OR PLACE TO EAT ON CAMPUS: The omelet bar in Vandenberg Dining Hall; also, shout-out to Denis with OU Eats for operating this dining station, and ensuring our omelets are cooked to perfection and our bellies are full

FAVORITE MOMENT ON CAMPUS: Walking the stage at my undergraduate commencement ceremony with one of the future leader dogs I raised during my time at OU

BEST CLASS: DHC

FAVORITE PROFESSOR: Dr. Sang Hoon Rhee in the Department of Biological Sciences — he was a phenomenal professor, research mentor and role model

SONG(S) YOU LISTENED TO WHEN STUDYING: “Beige” by Yoke Lore is one of my all-time favorite songs, and it frequents most of my study playlists

SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT YOURSELF? I raised and trained four future leader dogs for Leader Dogs for the Blind during my undergraduate and graduate studies
